Challenge
The safety of statins has been extensively studied, resulting in a large and heterogeneous body of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Translating this complex evidence base into clear, credible insights for medical affairs communication requires a structured and methodologically robust synthesis.
Solution
Clevidence designed and conducted an umbrella review, consolidating evidence from systematic reviews and meta-analyses evaluating statin safety.
The methodology included:
- Systematic literature searches across major biomedical databases;
- Structured extraction of safety outcomes across multiple clinical domains;
- Methodological quality appraisal using AMSTAR 2;
- Integrated synthesis of safety evidence across individual statins.
Impact
The project produced a comprehensive synthesis of statin safety evidence, enabling clear scientific communication and supporting healthcare professional engagement.
The work has been prepared for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
